Grabner, Stafford, Bryzgalov Named NHL's 'Three Stars'

Islanders right wing Michael Grabner, Sabres right wing Drew Stafford and Coyotes goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov have been named the NHL's 'Three Stars' for the week ending Feb. 13. Grabner led the NHL in goals (eight) and points (nine) and posted a +7 rating last week, helping the Islanders win three games in four starts. Stafford notched two more hat tricks, increasing his League-leading season total to four, as the Sabres continued their surge for playoff berth by earning five of six available points. Bryzgalov posted a 3-0-0 record, 1.29 goals-against average, .948 save percentage and one shutout as the Coyotes climbed to sixth place in the Western Conference standings.

Hurricanes center Eric Staal, Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick and Islanders right wing Michael Grabner have been named the NHL 'Three Stars' for the week ending Jan. 30. Staal tallied four points in a pair of victories during an abbreviated week to help the Hurricanes close within one point of a playoff berth in the Eastern Conference. Quick registered a pair of victories heading into the All-Star break, helping the Kings gain valuable points and momentum in the tight race for playoff berths in the Western Conference. Grabner headed into the All-Star break by figuring in both Islanders goals (one goal, one assist) in a 4-2 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Jan. 26.
